BEHIND THE QUESTIONS

Sources, explanations and fair play.

Where the facts come from

The rounds combine original editorial questions with questions prepared from a dated snapshot of Wikidata structured facts. Each answer review links to its specific source item, where you can inspect statements and their references. The collection is frozen at 22 October 2026; playing a round does not query or send answers to Wikidata.

Wikidata’s structured facts are available under CC0 1.0. Our source use is described in Wikidata’s licensing notes. The explanatory wording and four-choice rounds are prepared for this game. Download the complete question bank and source links (JSON).

How the levels work

Every set has 50 distinct questions, with the same eight-subject distribution. Questions are allocated across twelve editorial difficulty tiers, using familiarity and specificity as guides. The tiers have not been calibrated against a representative sample of players. They are a guide to choosing a game, not an intelligence score or percentile.

A set passes at 45/50. Each new attempt shuffles both question order and answer positions. Resuming keeps the original order; a friend link shares its sequence and a self-reported result. The underlying facts remain the same, so repeated play can help you learn them.

Review and corrections

The bank checks for duplicate questions, missing explanations, invalid answer choices and the required topic counts. Editorial checks exclude disputed or unclear wording where identified. A source database can contain omissions or mistakes, and historical attribution and classification sometimes need context. If you spot a problem, email [email protected] with the level, set, question and a supporting source. We can correct and version the bank without changing an unfinished round silently.
